At Bles-Wold Yogurt we've been whipping up quality dairy products since 1996 but it all started in 1994. The Bos-Eilers family immigrated from the Netherlands and founded Bles-Wold Dairy and by 1995, their farm had a brand-new dairy facility and 60 Holsteins. They named their farm Bles-Wold, a hybrid of their hometowns, Blesdijke, and Steenwijkerwold.
A daughter with type 1 diabetes made Tinie Eilers seek out a high quality and nutritious yogurt without added sugar. She couldn't find any in the grocery store, so she started producing her own yogurt in small batches for family and friends. After their resounding endorsements she took their product to the local farmers markets and then onto the local grocery stores. Today Bles-Wold products are sold in around 100 stores all over Alberta!
In the fall of 2018, the Bos family wanted to retire from the yogurt making business. They approached the Beyer family, who also own Crystal Springs Cheese in Southern Alberta. They wanted someone with a similar story who would be interested in preserving the BlesWold legacy of tasty and natural products. The Beyer family has a similar story to the Bos-Eilers and found that their values were aligned. For the Beyer story you can read it here - https://crystalspringscheese.com/team/history/.
After some consideration we (Beyer's) agreed that we would be interested in this new endeavor. On March 2, 2019 we began producing Bles-Wold Yogurt at our family farm in Lethbridge. We have worked hard to continue the fresh and natural tradition of Bles-Wold yogurt, and today we are happy to say that this has been one of our most rewarding ventures! Bles-Wold is a premium product. It travels from our cows in the milking barn to the federally inspected yogurt production facility in a matter of hours and arrives on grocery shelves in a matter of days. Really, from cow to shelf in 3 days! This freshness and tight control over production means we know exactly what goes into our products. To top it off, we now use only 100% A2 milk for all our Bles-Wold products – this makes it the most digestible yogurt available to you!
